In response to your front page article about the governor's race, I beg you to stop casting the competition as left-wing versus right-wing ["Gillum, DeSantis race gives voters a choice: left, or right," Oct. 1].
We have a populist candidate who has made public statements which seem quite "left wing." However, I don't believe that his goals and objectives can come to fruition, given that he has to work with our Legislature.
In contrast, we have a candidate who is highly touted by a president who may or may not be in office by the time of the election. Following the lead of this commander in chief, this candidate might make radical and unforeseen moves which will only lead Florida to further ridicule.
