I believe Dr. Christine Blasey Ford is telling the truth about Judge Brett Kavanaugh.
I also believe her claim might not be enough, by itself, to eliminate Kavanaugh from the Supreme Court. All people have a closet full of indiscretions from youth we hope to hide forever. All of us know these indiscretions do not measure who we are now.
Life is long. Experiences are vast. We all get to make changes in our life to put a past behind us. Kavanaugh's record seems impeccable.
I found myself believing the accusers and still allowing a space in my mind for Kavanaugh’s appointment to the court. That is, until Kavanaugh's critique of the Democrats on Sept. 27. Someone spouting that vitriol is not an unbiased thinker who will calmly debate and consider the important distinctions of the laws of the land. Kavanaugh showed his hand.
Guilty or not, agendas are at play, and, yes, they come from both sides of the aisle. But such agendas do a tremendous disservice to the Supreme Court and should always be seen as evidence of an inability to serve when they are so obvious.
Judge Kavanaugh should not sit on the Supreme Court.
