How has the Navy Improved Your Life?

The Navy has done far too many good things in my life to list them all, but as a tart: I would never have met my husband if it weren’t for the Navy. I wouldn’t be in good financial standing nor had the amazing life experiences I have without it. I owe so much to the Navy, and I only hope and pray that I can put as much into it as I have gotten out. I will continue to strive to do so.

Why was this Sailor Chosen to be highlighted?

Petty Officer Springer’s unwavering commitment to her duties led to her to being hand-selected as the Weapon School’s most recent Junior Sailor of the Quarter. As one of only two staff administration petty officers in an extremely busy command, she has demonstrated her reliability by ensuring the proper preparation, routing, and tracking of 98 items of routine correspondence, 7 directives, 9 awards, 43 pieces of mail correspondence, ordered 105 supplies, submitted 11 Joint Personnel Adjudication System visitor requests, and managed 26 transactions via Transaction Online Processing System (TOPS) for the 55 command members. However, her expertise and value to the command extends well beyond her in-rate knowledge. She has also dedicated herself to being an excellent Sponsorship Coordinator, leading 11 sponsors through a smooth transition to the command. Without a doubt, the HSM Weapons School Atlantic functions more efficiently and with a higher degree of readiness because of the hardworking efforts of YN2 Springer. Her positivity and devotion to being a well-rounded, diligent Sailor has made her an exemplary member of the “Talon” family.
