In an ongoing effort to provide new food options for the Sailors, civilians, residents and visitors to Naval Station Mayport, Capt. David Yoder, commanding officer of NS Mayport, joined NEX General Manager Bill Hockenbury at a soft opening for Loco Bros Mexican Grill in Building 1397, the space formerly occupied by Taco Bell. The restaurant is an assembly-line style restaurant that features made from scratch tacos, burritos, nachos and bowls. The second location for owners Uguray Isik and Burak Kus (the first is NAS Pensacola), Mayport will include a vegetarian protein option. This location will also have a drive-thru breakfast menu available after the restaurant is in full swing.

Loco Bros opening comes on the heels of the newest food truck addition, “Back to the Grind Mobile Cafe” coffee and smoothie truck parked off Massey Avenue from 6-10 a.m.
