Representatives from Naval Station Mayport, Helicopter Maritime Strike Wing Atlantic, and LCSRON Two joined Fleet Logistics Center (FLC) Mayport personnel and NS Mayport Public Works in celebrating the newly renovated FLC warehouse Building 1554 on April 13.

The joint NAVSUP-LCSRON project includes warehouse modification with a new redesign of the exisiting storage systems.

Capt. Matt Ott, commanding officer of NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Jacksonville, said the project stemmed from the fact that the warehouse not only was an uncomfortable place to work, but it also was not using its full potential. Plus, with the addition of the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) fleet, the mission of Mayport’s FLC shifted to accommodate.

The warehouse has a new mezzanine storage space and shelving systems, along with new ergonomic fans, upgraded electrical and new modular office systems.

NAVSUP FLC Jacksonville provides supply support services to Fleet units as assigned. NAVSUP FLC Jacksonville has evolved from a local storefront operation with several remote regional sites to a unified and decentralized single point provider of supply chain and logistics products and services throughout the Naval Region Southeast.
