Two big renovation projects set to begin in November will mean more food and shopping options for Naval Station Mayport
Starting Nov. 6, the Navy Exchange (NEX) Uniform and Barber Shops will be relocated while their spaces adjacent to the Fleet Store in Buildings 1264/1397 are getting overhauled. NEX General Manager, Bill Hockenbury said the shops will be moving to the old Navy College area to the south of the Fleet Store in Building 460. New hours of operation will eliminate weekend hours for the Barber shop as well.
Hockenbury said the renovation will also include the removal of the laundromat, located between the Barber Shop and Subway.
Taco Bell is also ending its time at NS Mayport in early December. Bids are out to find a new vendor to occupy the area.
The Old McDonald's on Maine Street is also finally getting its revamp starting the first week of November. Raising Cane's will join Panda Express when the renovation is complete. Raising Cane's menu features chicken finger meals and Panda Express is asian fare.
