LCS Crew 110 are the new champions of the 2017 Fall Sports Challenge, beating out the Coast Guard Station Mayport by only 50 points held Oct. 24-26.
LCS Crew 110 scored 1100 points in this year's match up, followed by the Coast Guard at 1050 and FRCSE Detachment Mayport coming in third place with 675 points.
Naval Station Mayport's team started off this year's competition strong by winning both the CO/CMC Canoe Race and Experienced Canoe Race on Oct. 24.
ATG made its presence known with a slam dunk at the 3v3 Basketball event, showing the younger teams how the greybeards do it.
LCS Crew 110 showed up to win at Fling Golf and Bocce, while Coast Guard took home first win in Bowling and starting the trend for the following two days of events.
FRCSE also put firsts under their belts in Baton Relay and Dodgeball.
The next two days of events however, were ruled by Coast Guard Station Mayport as they won Ultimate Frisbee, Spikeball, Kickball, Voleyball, Cornhole, and Battleship.
Quick wins in Tug-o-War and Mayport Warrior on the last day kept LCS Crew 110 in the lead as final points were tallied.
BM1 Eric Righter of Coast Guard Station Mayport was named as this year's MVP award winner. This year's Sports Challenge featured over 200 participants from 9 different commands.
