From LCSRON Two
On July 21, LCSRONTWO closed out its CPO 365 Phase I with the first LCS Speed Mentoring Event.
First Class Petty Officers (FCPO) from across Naval Station Mayport, got the opportunity to ask questions to Chief Petty Officers from around the base and the Executive Officers from two LCS CREWS about leadership, life challenges, and many other items related to growth and development.
A big thanks to the Chiefs who sat down with us all," said Yoeman 1st Class Evan Seller. "It was a great time to ask the questions we wanted to know the most from the hearts and minds of our senior leadership. All feedback and advice was greatly appreciated!"
The event which is similar to speed dating gave each FCPO three minutes to ask a question before rotating to the next mentor. Personnel Specialist 1st Class April Talbert of LCSRONTWO along with Chief Logistics Specialist Dave Adkins of LCS CREW 110 coordinated and lead the event.
"It was a very well organized event with invaluable information exchanged between the Chiefs and first classes of LCSRON TWO and other commands," Chief Operations Specialist (SW) Alexander Mirailh. "All commands should adopt this and consider doing semiannually."
"The best mentoring event I have went to in 23 years in the Navy," said CMDCM (SW/AW) Timothy Hardin. "This event had Officers and Senior enlisted doing what we are paid to do in the Navy and out in the civilian sector.
