MWR Hosts Buster Chopz

From MWR

Navy MWR and Nashville Promotions Plus has teamed to rock Naval Station Mayport with headlining band, Buster Chopz, from Dansville, New York. Buster Chopz will be performing during MWR's Rockin' November Beach Party at the Sea Otter Pavilion on Nov. 5, 2004 from 6-10 p.m.

The pool, which is heated to 80 degrees, will be open free of charge from 6-9 p.m. The kids can also enjoy the moonwalk. Come out and enjoy this family event! For more information call MWR at 270-6012.

Buster Chopz' new CD, The Ride, was released Oct. 30.

Nashville Promotions Plus' president, Jeff Witherell, stated ''We began working with the Navy a few months ago on sponsorship and endorsement programs, and we came up with the concept of a military relief tour to go to naval bases and give something back to the troops by doing a series of concerts. We really need to thank the Navy MWR for giving us such a great opportunity.''

Witherell, a native of Dansville who also works with Hank Williams Jr., NASCAR teams and tracks, was visiting family at home when he heard about Buster Chopz new CD. JD, being a military veteran himself as well as a seasoned musician, seemed like a natural to tie the band into the military relief tour and promote their new CD. The tour not only includes Naval Station Mayport and a CD release party on Beale Street in Memphis, but also will include bases in Meridian, Miss.; Gulfport, Miss.; and then headlining the Blue Angels Airshow at the Blue Angels Park in Pensacola, Fla.

These shows are being sponsored by Stacker 2's energy drink, YJ Stinger, and not only will the band be performing for the troops, but YJ Stinger will also be making a contribution to the Navy MWR fund at each event. Bret Wadams, aka Buster, who is also from Dansville and is the drummer for Buster Chopz, states, ''It is such an honor and opportunity for the band to be part of a tour such as this and to give something back to the troops, because if it wasn't for what they do, we wouldn't be able to do what we do, and that's rock!''
