FRCSE Volunteers For Radio Telethon

From July 21-25, the radion station contributed time and resources to help raising funds for the non-profit agency geared to help service members and their families.
"The USO has obviously been a very strong supporter of all the military services so when the opportunity presented itself, I jumped at it," stated Yeoman Third Class Petty Officer Jehovich Perez.
Many of the telethon's participants had similar reasons why they felt it was important to participate in the USO sponsored event.
"It's a chance for the Navy to give a little bit back by volunteering our time and efforts to make sure the USO remains open and to keep sponsoring the programs that provide assistance to troops all over," stated Chief Aviation Machinist Mate Keiya Crawford.
The telethon raised more than $30,000 and gave a portion of its proceeds to the USO, which in turn uses these funds to help military personnel and their families for phone cards, care packages and entertainment.
