SERMC Mayport has won the Naval Station Mayport Captain's Cup.

It is the second year that SERMC has taken the award. In order to achieve this award a command must be a major participant in the sports program at NS Mayport.

The points accumulated are put through a mathematical process based on the manning factor. Points are received for how a team placed, with first through sixth place for major sports; first through fourth for minor and individual sport. The calculation also includes participation points.

Points are divided by manning factor of 1.0-4.0 based on the number of permanently assigned personnel from 100 or less to 1001 or more.

SERMC has participated in many sports this year to include: Intramural basketball, Greybeard basketball, golf, bowling, 5K runs, softball, tennis, racquetball, volleyball and flag football.

SERMC placed first in Intramuralb, Greybeard basketball, soccer, softball and volleyball. Their outstanding performance put them above all other participants.

The 2006-07 Captain's Cup season began in March 2006 with Softball and Soccer and will continue through Volleyball at the end of March 2007.

For more information on how to get your command involved in the Captain's Cup, contact Rita at the gym 270-5451.
