FRCSE Takes Home Captain's Cup

In order to achieve this award, a command must be a major participant in the sports program at Naval Station Mayport. The points accumulated are then put through a mathematical process based on the manning factor. Points are received for how a team placed (first-sixth place for major sports, first-fourth for minor and individual sport), as well as participation points. Points are divided by manning factor of 1.0-4.0 based on the number of permanently assigned personnel from 100 or less to 1001 or more.

The 2006-2007 Naval Station Mayport Captain's Cup Program consisted of eight sports, six tournaments and four special events. Thirty Naval Station commands competed for the Captain's Cup award.

The award is given to the command with the greatest participation in the annual sports program. Points are awarded for both participation and standings in each sport with the emphasis being placed on participation over standings.

FRCSE participated in six sporting events and finished second in greybeard basketball, bowling and soccer. FRCSE had 330 total points which when divided by their unit total of 1.5 put them in first place with a score of 220.

FRCSE has participated in many sports this year to include: greybeard basketball, bowling, 5K runs, softball, soccer and racquetball. Their outstanding performance put them above all other participants.

This award is a traveling award and will be placed at the command for a year.
