Calling all artists and graphic designers, Naval Station Mayport is holding a logo design contest to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the base's commissioning in December 1942.
Winner of the contest will have their design used in various formats such as online, print and on merchandise.
Deadline for entries is midnight on July 26. All submissions should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. Include "Logo Contest" in the subject line. The contest is open to active duty service members, Retirees and their families of legal age. It is not open to DoD contractors and non-Federal entities or groups associated with such contractors or entities.
Entries must be suitable for public viewing. They must be easily resized and legible in black and white as well as color.
Entries must be a computer-generated design in JPG, TIF or PNG format. Hand drawn or other formats are not permitted.
Entries must be submitted in resolution of at least 600 dpi.
Entrants must ensure that their Entries are not in any way similar to existing logos or other copyrighted images.
Entries which do not conform to the Submission Guidelines will be rejected and not considered eligible for judging.
Judging is based on the logo and theme that best fulfills the mission of NS Mayport's 75th Anniversary and creates an image that promotes the purpose of the anniversary events.
The Commanding Officer of NS Mayport or his designated reppresentative will select the winning entry. His decision will be final and no further correspondence will be entered into.
The winning Entry will be announced in the July 27 edition of The Mirror and on the NS Mayport Facebook page on July 28, 2017. The winning Entrant will also be notified via email. NS Mayport reserves the right to amend this date as required.
NS Mayport reserves the right not to select a winner if, in its sole discretion, no suitable entries are received.
NS Mayport reserves the right to disqualify any Entrant or Entry at it sole discretion. No correspondence will be entered into.
Upon submission, Entrants expressly state the following:
â€¢ That his/her Entry is his/her original work, was not created as part of his/her official duties as an officer or employee of the United States Government, and was not created as a work for hire.
â€¢ That the Entry is not owned by any other individual or entity.
All Entries will become the property of the Department of the Navy. The winner will be required to sign an agreement assigning all property interests to the Department of the Navy.
By submitting an Entry, all Entrants grant permission for the Department of the Navy to make public and otherwise use his/her name, should they win, for publicity purposes. All publicity will be in accordance with the Department of the Navy Public Affairs Guidance.
NS Mayport is not responsible for lost, damaged, late, or never received Entries.
