Groves (FFG 29) is credited with two successful interdictions of suspected narcotics trafficking vessels during the first week of August. NS Mayport To Participate In 'Solid Curtain' Exercise Naval Station Mayport will join bases throughout the Navy on Sept. 18-22 in an exercise to develop Navy security personnel. Carney Sailors Spend Time Helping Others While deployed to South America, USS Carney (DDG 64) Sailors served others by participating in four community relations projects. Carneymen could be found with paintbrushes and hammers in hand as they restored schoolhouses and retirements homes in Chile, Ecuador and Panama. McInerney Sailors Give Back Twelve Sailors and two spouses from USS McInerney (FFG 8) recently volunteered their services to HABIJAX, a local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity.
