Bulkeley/HSL-42 Rescues British Mariner On High Seas
Eastbound across the Atlantic en route to her second deployment, USS Bulkeley turned and made best speed due west on June 12 for a difficult search-and-rescue mission on the high seas. The second distress call in as many days sent Bulkeley on its second rescue mission; the first had proven a false alarm, but the second would not.
