New CO For RGB

Cmdr. Timothy F. Sparks relieved Cmdr. Clinton A. Carroll as Commanding Officer of USS Robert G. Bradley (FFG 49) on May 1 on the flight deck of the ship while on deployment to the Sixth Fleet Area of Responsibility. Gen. William E. McLaren Joins USS De Wert
Command of the Mayport-based Frigate USS De Wert (FFG 45) changed hands May 1, when Cmdr. Sean McLaren relieved Cmdr. Jim Kirk.

USS Underwood Enters Dry Dock
USS Underwood entered Atlantic Marine dry dock for a scheduled two-month CNO Dry docking Selected Restricted Availability (DSRA) on April 10, only six days after returning from a highly successful six-month Counter-Narco Terrorism deployment to the Eastern Pacific.

UNITAS Gold 2009 Draws To A Close
UNITAS Gold, the 50th iteration of the longest running multinational exercise in the world came to a close May 4, following more than two weeks of realistic training scenarios by the United States and partner maritime forces and observers from Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Dominican Republic, Germany, Mexico, Peru, and Uruguay.

UNITAS Gold Welcomes Mexican Navy For SINKEX
The Mexican patrol vessel ARM Oaxaca (PO-161) participated along with ships from 11 nations in the sinking exercise (SINKEX) of the former ex-USS Connelly (DD 975) April 29 during UNITAS Gold.
