Proud Warriors Awarded 2006 Battle 'E'
In March, Commander, Helicopter Maritime Strike Wing, U.S. Atlantic Fleet, Capt. Mike Martin, presented the 2006 Battle "E" Award to the Proud Warriors of HSL-42.

DeWert Honors Its Namesake During Port Visit
A seemingly routine port visit to Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts during the week of April 2 gave the Sailors of USS DeWert (FFG 45) a rare opportunity to experience some of its ship's history.

SERMC Personnel Complete Green Belt Training
The Southeast Regional Maintenance Center (SERMC) has put a great deal of emphasis on process improvement during the past year. The primary process improvement tools have been Lean, Six Sigma (LSS) and Theory of Constraints. To support the effort, SERMC has trained three of its staff in Black Belt curriculum, 57 staff members in Green Belt curriculum and 23 in Lean Champion (Lean Basics) curriculum. Each curriculum focuses on process improvement at different levels and intensity.

Fleet Public Affairs Center Southeast Bringing News From The Waterfront
In August 2006, the Visual Information Support Center Jacksonville otherwise known as the photo lab, disestablished and became Fleet Public Affairs Center Southeast (FLTPACEN SE) which is now located at NS Mayport. The transition was initiated after the implementation of the mass communication specialist (MC) rating.
